Things aren't what they seem

For an assessment. Our brief was only that we had to use mixed media, but other than that we could do anything or any theme.

I felt like using pastel pink + lemon yellow, so the OBVIOUS choice was to draw Peter Niccals. And then I added the eye-hands... and then Headless appeared. And then the antlers, just 'cause. Peter is wearing a Pierrot tunic, though I've no idea why he's missing his eyes. I presume he's not actually missing them. For some reason I feel weird whenever I draw people or my characters with their pupils and irises when its for an assessment? I don't even.

Edited a bit in photoshop -- the "paint daubs" effect. Because I am lame, and think they look kinda cool sometimes.

Also, the background is a scan from my copy of Camus' The Outsider. Page 58. The turning point of the novel. (Read it.)
It sorta doesn't have any relevance to Peter or the drawing, other than Camus being French, and me listening to Placebo's Burger Queen Francais over and over while I drew it. Yep.
